Amsterdam Real Estate Agents Association (MVA)
The Amsterdam Real Estate Agents Association (MVA) is the leading professional organization for real estate agents and appraisers in the Amsterdam metropolitan region and the largest chapter of the Dutch Association of Real Estate Agents and Appraisers (NVM). More than 600 real estate agents, prospective real estate agents, and appraisers are members of the MVA. Everyone operates in accordance with NVM regulations.
However, the Amsterdam metropolitan region demands more. It is the Champions League of the Dutch real estate market. Only a professional organization—with solid structure and the best professionals—can survive there. And we’ve been doing just that for over 140 years.
The MVA was founded in 1877. In 1984, the MVA merged with the Dutch Association of Real Estate Agents (Nederlandse Bond van Makelaars), giving rise to the NVM. All of our members are also members of the NVM.

Our belief: real estate brokerage is a profession
Real estate brokerage is a profession. And a profession must be learned. That is why the MVA was founded in the first place. Buying, selling, renting, and leasing homes is only part of a real estate agent’s job. Valuations, assessments of structural condition, laws and regulations, appraisals, legal proceedings, and legal matters—these are all part of the real estate agent’s profession. Moreover, a real estate agent is customer-focused and business-minded when the situation calls for it.
