Lang geleden vormde deze plek het centrum van de lakenweverijen, op houten ramen werden de stoffen gespannen om te drogen, en de naam ‘Raamgracht’ herinnert nog aan deze vervlogen tijden. Tegenwoordig vormen deze gracht en de omringende straten een oase van rust in de binnenstad. We zijn in een van de laatste echte ‘woonbuurten’ in de oude stad, met als centraal middel- en herkenningspunt de vertrouwde Zuiderkerk. Wat een feest om deze plek jouw thuis te mogen noemen!

Over de ligging en de buurt:
Deze woonboot is gelegen op een geweldige locatie in het oude centrum van Amsterdam, in een kleine en intieme buurt nabij de Amstel. De rijke historie is goed terug te zien: het woonhuis en atelier van Rembrandt bevindt zich om de hoek en ook de VOC was in deze buurt gevestigd. Tegenwoordig is de buurt verrassend rustig en prachtig groen, terwijl ook alle hotspots op een steenworpafstand gevestigd zijn. Denk aan het gebied rondom de Amstel, het Waterlooplein en natuurlijk de Dam. De verbindingen met het openbaar vervoer zijn zeer goed: zowel metro, tram als trein (Centraal Station) zijn binnen enkele minuten lopend te bereiken.

Achter de voordeur vinden we de open keuken welke is uitgevoerd met een oven, koelkast en een vaatwasser. Aan onze linkerhand is er toegang tot de badkamer, welke is uitgevoerd met een toilet, wastafel en een douche.

De langwerpige woonkamer heeft raampartijen aan beide zijden en geniet daarom van een prettige hoeveelheid lichtinval en uitzicht over zowel het water als de kade. De woning beschikt over 1 slaapkamer met een inbouwwandkast.

De gehele woning is voorzien van een parketvloer.

Geschakeld aan de woonboot zit een handige berging.

Many centuries ago, this place was the centre of cloth weaving, the fabrics were stretched on wooden windows to dry, and the name 'Raamgracht' still recalls these bygone days. Today, this canal and the surrounding streets are an oasis of calm within the city centre. We are in one of the last proper 'residential neighbourhoods' in the old town, with the familiar Zuiderkerk as the focal centre and landmark. What a treat to be able to call this place your home!

About the location and the neighbourhood:
This houseboat is located on a great location in the old town of Amsterdam, in a small and intimate neighbourhood near the Amstel river. The rich history is well reflected: Rembrandt's house and studio are just around the corner and the VOC was also based in this neighbourhood. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is surprisingly quiet and beautifully green, while all the hotspots are just a stone's throw away. Think of the area surrounding the Amstel River, the Waterlooplein and, of course, the Dam Square. Public transport connections are very good: both metro, tram and train (Central Station) can be reached on foot within minutes.

Ground floor:
Behind the front door, we find the open kitchen which is equipped with an oven, fridge and a dishwasher. On our left, there is access to the bathroom, which is equipped with a toilet, washbasin and a shower.

The elongated living room has windows on both sides and therefore enjoys a pleasant amount of natural light and views over both the water and the quay. The property features 1 bedroom with a fitted wardrobe.

Attached to the houseboat is a handy storage shed.
